Can I pre-order food and drinks?

Yes! With a bite to eat before the concert, or a snack and something to drink during the intermission, your visit will be a complete experience. Café Berwald is run by Elwing Catering and opens two hours before your concert or performance starts.

Food and beverage is available on all three floors, with slightly different conditions. When you pre-book, you don't have to queue, but you are of course also welcome to order upon arrival. If you are a group of ten or more, you always need to pre-book. Click here to read more.

Can I pre-book refreshments for the intermission?

Yes, pre-orders for intermission refreshments are made and paid for on site in one of the three service areas before the concert starts. Arrive well in advance and the service staff will help you book. You will then be allocated a table (either at a café table or a standing table).

The number of possible intermission pre-orders depends on the time between the start of the concert and the intermission, which varies from 25 minutes to 1.5 hours. The longer the time, the more pre-orders are possible. But you can always shop directly at the café cash register during the intermission, even if the pre-order is full.

Can I bring my own food?

Food and drinks are prohibited in the concert hall. You are also not allowed to bring food or drinks into the premises of Berwaldhallen, including the foyers. Exceptions are made for baby food, fruit, simple snacks that you may need for medical reasons during your visit, and plain water. Café Berwald opens two hours before the concert starts and is also open during any intermission.

Is there drinkable water?

Yes, a water dispenser with cold, fresh water and paper cups is available on every floor in the foyer, and is of course free of charge.

    Who will save Alfie Atkins?

Alfie sits alone in the apartment where he lives and feels lonely. He has moved to a new place and doesn’t know any of the other children there. Sometimes his imaginary friend Malcolm appears, and when they play together, Alfons always gets to decide — like being the train driver when they play trains. The problem is that Mållgan never shows up when he is really needed, like when the “big boys” chase Alfons and spray his jacket with water pistols. A performance about friendship, based on Alfie Atkins, the beloved children’s book character created by Gunilla Bergström.
