Youth Series

The perfect student gift or present for all music lovers under 27! (Mini series with 4 concerts.)

Berwaldhallen’s Youth Series is a perfect mini series for all curious young souls who want to experience classical music with the same intensity and nerve as a really good drama series. Journeys through the entire range of emotions await, with love, power plays, mystery, friendship, betrayal and hope in stirring music.

Since everyone up to 26 years old receive a full 50% discount on the regular ticket price, the series is really affordable. (If you are 27 years old or older and want to accompany your younger friend, you can also buy the series with a 25% discount – just select “Youth series, over 26 years old” after clicking the buy button.)

Unlike our other concert series, the Youth series lets you choose different seats in the hall at each concert. This gives you greater flexibility and the opportunity to try out how different sections of the hall can offer different experiences.

Remember that if you have a youth ticket, you need to be able to show identification when you visit.

Included concerts

  • 1. Mozart, Liszt and Dantes' Inferno

    Thursday 15 Oct 2026, 7 PM

Liszt's Les Préludes opens with life's big questions, Mozart's Sinfonia concertante lets violin and viola meet in a charged relationship drama, and after the break, the darkness deepens in Kurtág's concentrated music and Adès' Inferno suite – a world of beauty, brutality and brilliant chaos where everything is at stake. Think series like The Bear or Peaky Blinders.

  • 2. Elgar's Enigma Variations

    Thursday 19 Nov 2026, 6 PM

In Barber's The School for Scandal, wit, rumours and intrigue explode like fireworks, comparative to an episode of Bridgerton. Gubajdulina's Fairytale Poem is a suggestive story where the fairy tale turns dark and where the world of music follows its own relentless laws – think the Dark series in symphonic guise. Elgar's beloved Enigma Variations conclude the concert with a low-key but deeply human portrait gallery, where each variation depicts a life through music.

  • 3. Wagner's Ring without words

    Friday 19 Feb 2027, 7 PM

Lorin Maazel's Der Ring ohne Worte lets the grand arc of the saga take shape: from shimmering beginnings and grand departures to conflicts, transformations and downfall. A bit like a distilled season of Succession or Game of Thrones – told with an orchestra.

  • 4. Mythology and modernism

    Thursday 13 May 2027, 6 PM

Mao Fujita stars in Poulenc's Piano Concerto, which brings to mind the magical worlds of Studio Ghibli. Coulthard's Endymion is like an episode of The Sandman – a slow, sensual dream state where myth, timelessness and quiet intensity spread – while Alfvén's An Archipelago Tale could perhaps be compared to Twin Peaks: an idyll where nature and romance contain both heat, mystery and a streak of something darker beneath the surface.
