Mozart, Korngold & von Paradis

The South Korean conductor Eun Sun Kim makes her debut at Berwaldhallen with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, alongside the Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski, performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, one of only two piano concertos he wrote in a minor key. The concert begins with the overture to Austrian composer Maria Theresia von Paradis' comic opera Der Schulkandidat (The School Candidate). Following this is Erich Wolfgang Korngold's Symphony in F sharp major, where glimpses of his own film music create a dramatic reflection on the horrors of World War II, concludes the concert.
