Chamber Unplugged: Schumann and Hallén
Get closer to the music – and the musicians – with Chamber Unplugged! Two 19th century composers are centre stage at this lunchtime concert; Robert Schumann and Swede Andreas Hallén.
This production is part of one or more concert series.

Gothenburg-born composer Andreas Hallén studied in Germany, and was influenced by Liszt and Wagner, among others. He wrote mainly big pieces for orchestra, and several operas and choral works. Robert Schumann is perhaps best known for his songs, but also composed several symphonies, oratorios, and opera Genoveva. Here, one Piano Quartet from each composer is performed; both romantic pieces written in the 19th century, but with half a century between them. Schumann’s Piano Quartet in E flat major are among the most common and best loved, while Hallén’s is much more rare – seize the opportunity to get to know a piece of Swedish music history!
