Season 2026/2027
The 2026/2027 season sees the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Choir joined by guest conductors and soloists in music spanning several centuries, up to the present day. The orchestra’s new Chief Conductor, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, leads them in several concerts. The Swedish soprano Malin Byström is Artist in Residence, and the theme “Roots and origins” runs as a unifying thread throughout the season.

Roots and origins
Music has accompanied humanity since the beginning. With the theme Roots and origins, we travel back and forth in time – from humanity’s first rhythms to today’s global soundscape. It is a reminder that music has always been and always will be a mirror of humanity, her soul and culture.

The brutalist building of Berwaldhallen is in itself an architectural work of art. But there is also exciting art to discover in the foyers, from Carl Eldh's iconic bust of Franz Berwald to Hans Viksten's imaginative murals.
