Carmina Burana & Emmy Lindström’s Rösaring
Carmina Burana – Songs from Beuren – is the German composer Carl Orff’s setting of once-forbidden folk poems from the 12th and 13th centuries. This near-iconic work is interpreted here by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Choir, soprano Karolina Bengtsson, tenor Tobias Westman, and baritone David Risberg, conducted by Taiwanese conductor Yi-Chen Lin. Also featured is the world premiere of Emmy Lindström’s Rösaring – a concerto for orchestra inspired by a breathtakingly situated Viking-era archaeological site.
This production is part of one or more concert series.

A fantastic evening of faultless performances. Berwaldhallen continues its tradition of musical excellence. It is encouraging that the hall was packed and that the audience felt emboldened to give a standing ovation at a time when the fate of classical music appears more precarious than ever.
