Krista Audere - principal guest conductor of the Swedish Radio Choir

In 2021, she won the prestigious choral conducting competition - the Eric Ericson Awards. From the fall of 2025, she will be the first guest conductor of the Swedish Radio Choir!

Krista Audere (1989) is a prominent conductor from Latvia, currently based in the Netherlands. She leads the VU Chamber Choir and Chamber Choir Venus, and often serves as a guest conductor for the Dutch Chamber Choir, Dutch Radio Choir, and Cappella Amsterdam.

In 2021, Krista won the prestigious first prize in the Eric Ericson Award. In 2024, she began her role as a principal teacher of choral conducting at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. For the 2025/2026 season, she will become the first guest conductor for the Radio Choir – the first ever. In 2028, Krista will succeed Daniel Reuss as the artistic director and chief conductor of Cappella Amsterdam.

Krista's musical journey began at the Riga Dom Choir School, where she qualified as a choirmaster and choir singer. She earned her bachelor's degree in choral conducting at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. In 2016, she graduated cum laude with a master's degree from the Amsterdam University of the Arts.

As a singer, Krista has collaborated with the Latvian Radio Choir and Cappella Amsterdam. She is also a frequent jury member in conducting and choir competitions and regularly gives masterclasses on choral conducting.
