Music in memory of
In a concert that rests in silence and comfort, Honorary Conductor Peter Dijkstra leads the Swedish Radio Choir through a program created for remembrance and reflection. Edward Elgar's They Are at Rest opens as a soft tribute, followed by Johannes Brahms' deeply existential Warum ist das Licht gegeben. Nana Forte's two strong Libera Me and Miserere Mei then give a contemporary voice to ancient prayers, while Johann Sebastian Bach's Komm, Jesu, komm carries a timeless sense of faith. The program is rounded off with Hubert Parry's powerful Songs of Farewell, where feelings of loss are woven together with hope and spirituality.
