Baltic Sea Festival 2023

End the Baltic Sea Festival together with the Swedish Radio Choir and chief conductor Kaspars Putniņš at Nordiska Museet for a concert featuring music from the Nordic and Baltic countries.

The Swedish Radio Choir under the baton of chief conductor Kaspars Putniņš invite the audience to a concert featuring first performances of works by Mirjam Tally, Jesper Nordin and Johannes Pollack. Also on the programme are Jan Sandström’s Biegga Luohte and Ingvar Lidholm’s …a riveder le stelle.

The American choir The Crossing under the baton of Donald Nally together with Finland’s Klockriketeatern in Robert Maggio’s choral‑theatre work Aniara: fragments of time and space, based on Harry Martinson’s highly topical space epic of 1956.

VoNo and Nassim Al Fakir will appear at the Baltic Sea Festival with a show about our amazing Earth. Suitable from the age of 6.

The internationally acclaimed Baroque ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro and countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński in a concert where the Baroque lover hero enters the Baltic Sea Festival stage in his various emotional guises.

Swedish-Norwegian rising star Johan Dalene appears on the Baltic Festival stage in Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G Minor together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Harding, who also leads the orchestra in Richard Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben – A Hero’s Life.

Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra´s guest performance at the Baltic Sea Festival with pianist Leif Ove Andsnes and conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali will feature Ludvig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 as well as works by Lilli Boulanger and Igor Stravinsky.

Polstjärneprisets own symphony orchestra and the 2023 winner Inez Karlsson conducted by Marco Crispo and Esa-Pekka Salonen.

The Baltic Sea Festival’s founder Esa-Pekka Salonen starts off this year’s programme with a concert focusing on heroes and anti-heroes in the name of love. Peter Mattei and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra perform works by Gustav Mahler, Béla Bartók and Hector Berlioz.
