Rachmaninov 150 years: All-Night Vigil

Berwaldhallen celebrates pianist and composer Sergei Rachmaninoff in five special programmes this autumn. It is said that Rachmaninoff wrote his All-Night Vigil in less than two weeks in early 1915. It became one of his personal favourites, and parts of it were performed, at his own request, during his funeral. It is performed here by music director Kaspars Putniņš and the Swedish Radio Choir in the recently reopened Högalidskyrkan.
