Matre’s Orphic Songs with the Swedish Radio Choir

In the powerful acoustics of Storkyrkan, the Swedish Radio Choir and Alexander Lüken, winner of the 2024 Eric Ericson Award, open the door to a timeless sound universe where ritual, myth and spirituality meet. Ørjan Matre's Orphic Songs frame the concert with music that moves between ancient mysticism and contemporary intensity. In between, Richard Strauss' shimmering Der Abend, Ingvar Lidholm's expressive Canto LXXXI, and Einojuhani Rautavaara's quiet Die erste Elegie are woven – a program that oscillates between fragile contemplation and strong existential expression.
