The multi–Grammy Awards-winning singer, musician and songwriter Sofia Karlsson started out in the folk music bands Eter and Groupa. She has been working with Stuart Duncan, Roger Tallroth, Tony Garnier and Mike Marshall, she has sung duets with Svante Thuresson and Rikard Wolff, and she has performed music by Rebecka Törnqvist, Lisa Ekdahl and others. Sofia Karlsson performs around the Nordic countries with her band, and she has appeared at acclaimed concerts together with Norrbottens Kammarorkester and the Gothenburg Sympony Orchestra.

She had a major breakthrough in 2005 with the critically acclaimed, Grammy Award-winning Svarta ballader. Since then, Sofia Karlsson has issued about ten solo albums and participated on around thirty others. Her project, Sally Wiola Sessions, has generated three albums: one with the pianist Martin Hederos, one with the violinist Lisa Rydberg and the accordionist Lisa Långbacka and one with the guitarists Daniel Ek and Mattias Pérez.

Not many musicians have the ability to alter between different roles, instruments, styles and contexts like Martin Hederos. He began his international career in the rock band Soundtrack of Our Lives, he is a progressive jazz pianist in one of Sweden’s best-known ensembles, Tonbruket, and he has been a member of the jazz ensemble Fire! Orchestra. He has played with Ane Brun and Anna Ternheim and he has been involved in several duo projects with, for example, Mattias Hellberg, Nino Ramsby and Sofia Karlsson.

In autumn 2020, Martin Hederos enchanted the audience at a sold-out concert at the Orion theatre in Stockholm. During autumn 2021, he will give his first solo performance at the Stockholm Jazz Festival in Hörsalen at the Stockholm Concert Hall. He will be performing tracks form his two piano albums of which his latest, Era spår, won a Grammy in the jazz category.

Nacka musikklasser offers a broad musical education for secondary school children. The main focus is choir-singing with a repertoire that includes works in a variety of genres from different countries and time periods.
