Brahms’ Symphonies: No. 1 and No. 3

Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, which the composer struggled for many years to complete, shifts from darkness to light in keeping with the style of Beethoven. In his lyrical Symphony No. 3, the Allegretto, so full of longing, has become particularly renowned. The theme is often used as film music, and many people have stated that this particular piece of music became their gateway to the world of classical music. Chief conductor Daniel Harding leads the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in this passionate music.
