In 2004, Mark-Anthony Turnage completed a celebrated solo concerto for Håkan Hardenberger. Two years ago, the successful collaboration was repeated with a second trumpet concerto, named after the musician it was written for. Turnage’s second trumpet concerto, Håkan, interweaves influences from jazz and chorale music with Afghan music, and has been met with great international acclaim. Now it’s performed at Berwaldhallen for the first time. The concert comes to an end with Beethoven’s expressive, nature romantic Symphony No. 6, the Pastoral Symphony.
