Rachmaninoff 150: Isle of the Dead

Berwaldhallen celebrates pianist and composer Sergei Rachmaninoff in five special programmes this autumn. Conductor Nathalie Stutzmann tackles his suggestive symphonic poem The Isle of the Dead, and the Pathétique symphony by Rachmaninov’s idol, Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Additionally, cellist superstar Edgar Moreau plays Robert Schumann’s cello concerto.
