Sound storms and horizons

When Omer Meir Wellber and pianist Daniel Ciobanu join the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, an evening awaits where the new, glowing, and majestic meet. The concert opens with the premiere of Matthew Peterson's commissioned work – a sonorous storm charged with contemporary expression. This is followed by Aram Khachaturian's colourful and intense piano concerto, where Ciobanu is given full scope for both virtuosity and temperament. After the intermission, Edward Elgar's Symphony No. 1 spreads its monumental arc: a journey from noble stillness to powerful breakthrough, where the horizon is constantly broadening.
