Divine Connection

Mozart’s Requiem was left unfinished at his death in 1791. He had completed only the first eight bars of the Lacrimosa movement, and over the centuries, several composers have attempted to complete the work. In Divine Connection, a concert concept by Matthew Swanson, Mozart’s music instead meets Arvo Pärt’s Te Deum. Under the direction of Martin Fröst, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Choir and soloists bring the two works together, contrasting Mozart’s dramatic and expressive musical language with Pärt’s serene, meditative sound world.
