The Swedish Radio Choir meets the Swedish Youth Choir

Since 2011, the Children’s and Youth Choir Association, UNGiKÖR, has run the national youth choir, the Swedish Youth Choir, which consists of young, ambitious choir singers from all over the country. Choir members meet and rehearse a few times each year and perform in Sweden as well as on international tours. The choirmaster changes, which promotes the ensemble’s vocal and artistic development. This concert is being conducted by Erik Westberg, one of the most prominent choirmasters and educators in the country.

Martin Fröst leads the Swedish Chamber Orchestra in a program where Jacob Mühlrad’s Helix meets Hans Ek’s DNA Suite, inspired by Bach, Rameau, and Handel. The evening culminates in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 – a work carrying this entire musical heritage in its DNA.
