Mozarts Gran Partita

Mozart’s Serenade No. 10 Gran Partita is, with its seven movements, rich in everything that is usually associated with the composer’s style; playfulness, contrasts, and virtuosity mixed with infectious melodies. When 13 wind musicians from the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra take on this masterpiece, it is combined with the contemporary Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi’s Serenade in Seven Colours, written with Gran Partita and the album Quiet Nights from 1963 by jazz trumpet player Miles Davis and pianist Gil Evans as its sources of inspiration.
