Maria João Pires, Harding & Mozart

‘Among the most beautiful things there are’, said philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche following the world premiere of Richard Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll. The piece was the composer’s birthday present to his wife Cosima – a musical love letter containing fragments of the opera Siegfried. Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 is kind of a musically winding conversation between the piano and the orchestra. Pianist Maria João Pires interprets Mozart’s music, led by principal conductor Daniel Harding.
