Mahler & Brahms with Emelyanychev

Music by Johannes Brahms and Gustav Mahler is on the program when principal guest conductor Maxim Emelyanychev leads the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Swiss-Italian pianist Francesco Piemontesi. The concert start with Johannes Brahms' powerful First Piano Concerto, which marks his true entry onto the grand symphonic stage. After the intermission, Mahler's beloved Fifth Symphony awaits, known from Luchino Visconti's film Death in Venice.
