Jubilee for Harding

Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra celebrates 15 years with chief conductor Daniel Harding with a magnificent jubilee concert. The premiere of Sven-David Sandström’s specially commissioned trombone concerto, here with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra’s Håkan Björkman as soloist, meets Richard Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra – one of Strauss’ best-known works, which many associate with Stanley Kubrick’s film 2001: A Space Odyssey. The concerts starts with music by Hugo Alfvén, in memory of his 150th birthday. Thomas Nordegren from Swedish Radio P1 talks with Daniel Harding on stage. Musical surprises are also offered.
