Grammy Award-winning album Big Fat Brass from 1958, the middle of May’s flourishing career as a studio musician, soloist, bandmaster and composer, is centre stage. Aside from a host of solo projects, May collaborated with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller and Nat King Cole, and in the 1960s and 70s, he also wrote music for films and TV series. May’s musical versatility and skill as an arranger are brought to life once again by Mike Lovatt, a virtuoso and cross-genre musician, and the brass musicians of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
