News at this year's festival

MUSIC AND TALKS IN COMBINATION

The Baltic Sea Festival offers high-quality music and world artists in Berwaldhallen for the seventeenth year in a row. New for this year is the seven high-profile talks that take place every festival day in front of the audience in the capitals around the Baltic Sea and which are streamed to the Berwaldhallen and at balticseafestival.com. All concerts are live-streamed, at balticseafestival.com and to the international collaboration venues. Participating in the talks are high profiled people from the culture, politics and science arenas in the Baltic Sea region. The talks are moderated by journalists from the Swedish Radio.

For the audience in Berwaldhallen, a festival evening starts with a live streamed talk from one of the venues around the Baltic Sea. The talk, which is in English, is shown on a large screen in Berwaldhallen and lasts for 45 minutes. Then a 15-minute break follows before the evening’s concert starts.

EASY LISTENING IN THE FOYERS

During the festival we extend the opening hours and activities in our foyers. In the upper foyer, we offer an easily listened program with our partners. Each festival day starts with a chamber music concert for about 15 minutes, then we meet people from the Raoul Wallenberg Academy, WWF, Södertörn University and the Swedish Institute in quarter-long talks that link to the festival’s theme on sustainability. A while later, it is time for our popular concert introductions in the lower foyer.

MORE OF ALL IN THE FESTIVAL BAR

In the Festival Bar we offer an extended organic menu as well as extended opening hours. The bar is open both before and after the main program and offers a perfect place to ventilate experiences and replenish energy. We open the foyers at 2.30 pm on weekends and 4.30 pm on weekdays and close 1.5 hours after the end of the last concert.
