Meet our newest partner in digital concert and talk

Earlier this year The Baltic Sea Culture Centre (the BSCC) in Gdańsk became a new partner of the Baltic Sea Festival. A proper entry will have to wait until the upcoming Baltic Sea Festival 2021, but we are happy to let you get acquainted to our new partner digitally already this year. Earlier this summer the BSCC presented the St. John a/New – Baltic Evening – a cultural programme with ensemble NeoQuartet, and a meeting with outstanding reporter and a Nike Literary Award winner, Mariusz Szczygieł.

The concert program is divided into two parts. First, NeoQuartet accompanied by the soloist and this year’s graduate of the Music Academy in Gdańsk, Emilia Maciak, presented compositions created by Paweł Szymański and Gregory Vajda. In part two, the quartet performed pieces on electric musical instruments.

The concert was followed by a talk about the role of culture in today’s complicated reality between Mariusz Szczygieł and the reporter Dorota Karaś.
