MUSICAL STORYTELLING: SLEEPING BEAUTY

The young conductor Ryan Bancroft has made an amazing journey from growing up in Los Angeles, through studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow to employment as music director of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the first American ever on the post. On his first guest play in Berwaldhallen, he gives his own concert suite from Tchaikovsky’s immortal fairy tale ballet from 1889, an exquisite composition of the central parts of the ballet’s act.
