The opening night of Baltic Sea Festival’s 20th edition will take place in the presence of H. R. H. Crown Princess Victoria at Berwaldhallen on 25 August. The evening is also a celebration of the Baltic Sea Day, and in order to highlight the Baltic, Berwaldhallen will embark on a musical journey around the Baltic Sea ports. First Concert Master Malin Broman is the captain, and joining her on board are violinist Pekka Kuusisto, pianist Simon Crawford-Phillips and colleagues from the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The concert is preceded by a panel discussion ”The Baltic Sea – that’s why we should care!” and right before the conversation, at 18.00, Anders Hillborg’s newly written Fanfare for the Baltic Sea Festival’s 20th Anniversary opens the festival!
The talk and concert will be broadcasted live on Berwaldhallen Play. The concert will also be broadcasted live on Swedish Radio P2.
